Hi, I'm Emily Canning

Welcome to my page! I am 18 years old and I am a Fine Art Photographer/Photojournalist based out of New York City. I am New York born and raised, residing in both Dutchess County and Manhattan.

I currently am attending the Fashion Institute of Technology in Manhattan, studying Photography and Related Media. I feel over the years I have improved greatly in my artistic vision as well as composition, editing, and camera operation skills. 

I have loved taking photographs my whole life, but started doing it regularly and professionally about 4 years ago. My style consists of a lot of drama and dark scenes. I love film photographs and art that strikes me as cinematic and emotional. I also am not afraid to push the limits of creativity in my art, sometimes adding humor and interesting editing techniques to further advance my work. Along with photography, I am an avid music lover, and a writer. I plan to mix these interests together in my field of work.

As well as Fine Art Photography, I also shoot events as a side business. I have done many Birthday Parties, Sweet Sixteens, Quinceañera's, Senior Portraits, and more!

I am proficient in Mac, PC, Social Media Platforms, Word, Powerpoint, Lightroom and Photoshop.
